Ishita Patel

Ishita holds a Master of Family Therapy from Mercer University, School of Medicine. She is licensed in the state of Georgia as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT000579). She works with individuals, couples, families, and groups in assisting people to become more aware and accepting of themselves. Ishita serves as a guide in providing a safe environment to facilitate growth and healing through a systemically structural approach. Her professional experience includes working with diverse populations experiencing various mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, domestic violence, sexual assault, behavioral issues, etc. In her work with children and adolescents, she offers Play Therapy sessions, which allows them to act out or play out, rather than talk about, their feelings and experiences that have been troublesome for them as well as learn new coping skills, increase self-esteem, make decisions, accept responsibility, and learn self-control.


Ishita is under the clinical direction and supervision of Jennifer D. Vann, LMFT. Additionally, she is currently pursuing her certification as a Registered Play Therapist under the supervision of Trudy Post Sprunk, LMFT, LPC, RPTS, EMDR, CPCS, who is also the President of the Georgia Play Therapy Association.
